Free indoor sports in the Biestebroeck quarter this summer!
An empty hangar, located on the Biestebroek dock in Anderlecht, will be given a new temporary use as of 19 July under the name "Hangar Sud". The hangar will be reopened to the neighbourhood and will be entirely dedicated to indoor sports.
Young and old will be able to enjoy themselves there on weekdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and at weekends from 10 a.m. The sports on offer will start with football and badminton and will be extended to other indoor sports and activities in the coming weeks.
Hangar Sud is a collaboration between Key West, BPI Real Estate, Immobel, Entrakt, Brussel Mobiliteit and vzw Biestebroek. Key West is the mixed project of BPI Real Estate and Immobel. The project is the key to the redevelopment of the Biestebroek dock and will be a hinge connecting the centre of Anderlecht, Sint-Gillis and the neighbourhoods around the Brussels South railway station. The permit application for the project is underway. In the meantime, BPI Real Estate and Immobel are making the vacant hangar on the site available for this initiative.
